One of the few westerns I genuinely enjoy watching. The character development throughout the story is top-notch and the ending is truly spectacular in my opinion. A few nice gunfights and Bale/Crowe both deliver fantastic performances in this one.
@Flicker2013
Thanks for the info!
A alright western movie. Wasn't bad nor was it great, it was just right... lol
3:10 to Yuma (2007)
Genre: (Action | Crime | Drama | Western)
IMDb Rating: (7,8/10 from 166 766 users)
Director: (James Mangold)
Starring: (Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Logan Lerman)
Plot:
Rancher Dan Evans heads into Bisbee to clear up issues concerning the sale of his land when he witnesses the closing events of a stagecoach robbery led by famed outlaw Ben Wade. Shortly thereafter, Wade is captured by the law in Bisbee and Evans finds himself one of the escorts who will take Wade to the 3:10 to Yuma train in Contention for the reward of $200.
Evans’s effort to take Wade to the station is in part an effort to save his land but also part of an inner battle to determine whether he can be more than just a naive rancher in the eyes of his impetuous and gunslinging son William Evans...
Nothing special. Just some people ridding horses, periodically shooting and then probably worst (most stupid) ending of a western ever.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. The contrast between the two lead characters kept my attention throughout the entire movie. Credit goes to the director, James Mangold, for his ability to create beautiful images and violence that did not seem excessive, even in the last gun-slinging scene; which is a big accomplishment for someone directing a western. The character of Ben Wade in particular was a joy to watch; Russel Crowe did an amazing job in depicting the complexity of a notorious bandit.
Wow this is the best western I have seen. I mean it's so hard to root for somebody in this movie. I thought Crowe and Bale were both Oscar worthy for their roles. And what a great gunfight in the end that made the movie flawless.
Great acting and great action! This is an action packed western starring two of the best actors of all time in Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. Bale is the hero that has to escort Ben Wade (Crowe) to a train so that he can earn money to pay off his bills.
I'm not that into Western's and I never saw the original, but this was a great movie.
Great western movie, and I don't particularly like westerns! Good acting and great action!
