YEP, it was good again. GREAT LINE "he's really hard to kill"...and what hollandann said, too.

Saw this last night. Fantastic movie. Was just telling someone that just when you think you're guessing something about the people or details in this, something happens to throw you off. It kept changing and twisting. Great suspense flick!

Subsidize these rich actors now! Who else is going to pay for their vacation in Hawaii? How lucky one must be to have an all-expense-paid trip in exchange for playing make-believe in front of a camera. Everyone should endorse this film so that we can secure the production of more puerile honeymoon gone awry yarns.
Synopsis Alert Number 1: no exact location. "One of the most beautiful, and remote, beaches in Hawaii...Far from civilization."
SAN 2: "an adventurous young couple". Can we smell the pitch from here?
SAN 3: unintentional comment on the nature of the movie set: "Nobody knows whom to trust."

Without the action, A Perfect Getaway somewhat lags, but the good thing is that in the movie, there's tons of action, thrills, gore with a great twist at the end. A Perfect Getaway is pure summer fun.

I'm giving it a 70% because the first 70% of the film was working for me, then final 30% didn't. I'm getting a little tired of cell phones becoming such a key player in modern movies. I know, I know...cell phones are everywhere. But to me they're becoming standard plot devices and an easy out for writers. Standard cliche line "I can't get a signal here, I've got to get up that hill", or cut to close up shot - "Battery Low".
OK movie, but you can wait for the rental unless you want to see great shots of Hawaii on the big screen.

Olyphant is surprisingly good in his screen presence. All of the actors, and those potentials as the serial killers, all turn out wrong. A tried and true formula that has a twist most don't see coming.
