@alx; Well said, and I agree. Steve Carell gives an emotional performance here (does he ever not?) and he is so relatable and believable that you squirm when he squirms, and cry when he cries, even in the most bizarre situations. The entire ensemble cast was good, down to the children. This was somewhat like American Beauty to me, but had it's own unique flavor. I've watched it twice and the second time enjoyed it more than the first.

i don't know... for me not so much a comedy as it was an really touching tale about dealing with (really immensely strange) family situation(s)... sure there are some laugh out loud moments, but not as many as i was expecting from reading reviews here (and elsewhere)... although that's not a bad thing... i think they got the balance pretty much spot on to make the storyline work really well. didn't hurt that the casting was great either... honestly, this is a really fantastic movie with a lot of twists and turns... one of the better (comedies?!) i've seen in some time... you really can't go wrong with it.

This was another good movie I liked!! And Ryan Gosling looked soo sexy hehe!! But of course that's just me ^_^

This was a great reminder to watch more movies like this ;) Highly enjoyable, lots of humor, but with soul. Nice twist that I didn't see coming too. Thanks to those who post links for our enjoyment ;)
