This movie was great. It wasn't hilarious but I couldn't stop watching just to see which actor showed up next.

Should have been so much better. Carl Reiner's spoof of film noirs is humorous at first, but as the film goes on, the jokes start to wear thin. After the 30-minute mark, the film becomes a chore to sit through. However, there still manages to be elements that work. The best scenes are when Steve Martin interacts with film clips from classic noir films. Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, Veronica Lake, Ava Gardner, Ray Milland, and many others make appearences via some clever editing. Martin does his best, and he is almost able to save this. Sad this wasn't able to complete what started so well.

This was a pretty clever and very funny movie. Taking classic B&W movies and movie stars from the 30's, 40's and 50's and putting them together like this. The story is not that bad at all and the lines("Everything about this side of town was cut-rate...even the hookers were having a sale"), and the scenes are put together nicely. Just add Steve Martin in it and it's just too funny. Cleaning woman seems like just an odd quirk at first until later, when it gives him an excuse to strangle Bette Davis. If you're a fan of the old 40's detective/suspense films, you'll really appreciate this movie. Don't listen overlong to those who quibble, there is real comedic genius here.

VERY ENTERTAINING, IT HAS FLASHES OF BRILLIANCE, INCREDIBLY WELL EDITED. QUITE CLEVER, WELL CAST, ALWAYS INTERESTING, GREAT FUN.

Okay, so that was one of the most adorable movies I've seen in a long time. And absolutely hilarious, of course. See, I howl at every full moon, but now I shall do it thumping on my chest and going "aaaoooooo!!!" in a squeaky bunny voice. Hehe. So good. So amazing, on the claymation level, on strategically placed vegetable humor levels, and on the pure enjoyment level. Awesome!! Mom and Dad and I had a great time, laughed through the whole movie. And said "weeee!' and "cheeeeese, Gromit!" a lot.

A salute to editors and set designers, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid is a funny and brilliant concept. Amusing obviously and subtly, any fan of classic films or creative comedies will love this. Daddy and I were giggling a lot, definitely our kind of movie. Of course it pisses me off that my film noir is totally shot because half of the jokes Martin used as PI Reardon I had put in my script...but hey, at least I know my stuff would sell! There's a positive spin for ya.

Oh, and the only man in the world whose voice can be recognized in complete darkness is introduced in just that way. I knew him of course, and laughed my ass off. And squealed, hehe. :-)
So I got chills watching this one. You know, America is an amazing and perfect place. No, not the people, and certainly not the President. But the concept, state of mind, and Constitution this nation was built on is perfect. I realized that watching this film, listening to Shepard's wonderful speech, and seeing that giant Congress applauding. I got goosebumps all over my body

Anyway, great romantic film, not to mention it kept me constantly amused that half the cast of this movie seems to have stayed on the White House set for about five years and then just started up again on The West Wing. Or got tired of waiting and just went to the New York Mayor's office instead.

At one point Sheen and Douglas walk through a door and a Marine says "Mr. President". I thought, "Yeah, Mr. President and Michael Douglas".

It's 4am. This is starting to cost me money, watching all these movies, because now I want to buy a bunch of them. Oh well.

And I'm also making a list of every book I've ever read. Or at least I'm trying to remember every one. I'm up to about 295 right now.

That's a very funny movie. ... well, I don't have much to say exept that you shoud see it every part of the film comme from another great movie one and it result that Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid is a giant absurdity. very funny.
