The three marks this gets is purely down to the fact that it features a gnarly 29 year-old Dennis Quaid in the lead role. He's since revealed that he was as nissed as a pewt for the entire shoot and he STILL managed to deliver his lines. The scriptwriter hasn't had any work published since and you can see why. Shot on 3-D film there's a few scenes that are obviously geared to that effect alone - a disembodied hand, a harpoon and of course the sharks themselves...still an hour and a half looking at Dennis Quaid is never a wasted hour and a half.

Jesus, what a terrible, terrible movie. The original Jaws by Spielberg is a masterpeice and the follow-up ain't bad neither. Then there's Jaws-3D which manages to tarnish what's gone before by being wretched in every department (Effects - Which are equally important as plot in a film like this; Characters, Excitement etc.).

I've watched it before as a kid, but decided to check it out again as it was on the other night. And it took a re-watching of Jaws to wash it out of my system. Still, if there is anything worse, then it's the sequel, Revenge...

The Jaws franchise sinks to a new low as a Great White, seeking revenge for the death of its offspring, attacks unsuspecting Sea World patrons. You know you're in trouble when a fish is smarter than all of the human characters rolled into one. Incompetent in every regard.

Jaws 3 (1983)

This was definitely an unnecessary movie but I don't think it is near as bad as a lot of people think it is. When I was younger I actually really enjoyed this movie even though even at the age of 8 I could see how ridiculous the effects were. Still, it's worth a look on TV.

I'm beginning the rather lengthy task of entering into the database every film I have seen, at least those I have a decent memory of. Some may have the briefest of reviews while many will just have a number. Those films that I consider personal favorites and/or those that have some historical signficance I will add later when I have time for more lengthy reviews.

Three Amigos is a slapstick comedy/parody directed by John Landis which stars Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short. A few laughs, but not enough to recommend.

Uncle Buck, directed by John Hughes, is one of the more watchable John Candy comedies. It's lightweight, but charming and also features Macauley Caulkin in one of his first roles.

Red Dawn, directed by John Milius, explores life in Cold War America. Soviet troops invade a small town and it's up to a bunch of teenagers to save the day. Features early performances from Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen as well as veteran actors Ben Johnson and Harry Dean Stanton.

Nothing In Common, directed by Garry Marshall, stars Jackie Gleason and Tom Hanks as father and son. Hanks is a successful yuppie enjoying life when his distant father reenters his life. There is nothing groundbreaking about this comedy/drama, but the performances are pretty good. Hanks gets to do some dramatic work in this film and he is beginning to show signs that would make him one of the most celebrated actors of the 90's.

Jaws 3. One was enough.

Jaws 3 is crap compared to the first one, the worst thing about this film is the dodgy 3-D action. but saying that it probably would have looked cool in the cinema but that still doesn't make up for how crap this film is.

I'd never seen any of the Jaws sequels before until I (out of curiousity) watched Jaws 3 on television today. I think I can definitely survive without watching the other sequels! Jaws 3 was just plain idiotic.

The first half is dull and devoid of anything even resembling tension or terror. A flat and uninteresting group of workers at a Florida Sea World find a baby great white shark and take it into the park. There it dies, and in the second half its gigantic 35 foot long mother begins to terrorize the park. The second half is as cheesy and unintentionally hilarious as the first half is dull. There are only two high points to the movie: the old John Williams shark theme and the scene where the mother shark is crushing the underwater tunnel, which was kind of funny.

Jaws 3 is just plain awful. Stay away, it's not nearly as good as the first Jaws.
