Stream it now Killer Joe Reset Status Want to Watch Already Watched Don't Want to Watch

Gotta say really not a fan of Matthew McConaughey but this is one movie that changed my mind. Great acting. Enjoyed from start to finish, although the ending left me frustrated! 8/10...its a good watch

I actually thought the plot was interesting and that the movie was well written. The content that made it NC-17 gave it that WTF feel. It could of been taken out or watered down, it wouldn't have changed the outcome. There were some moments when I went WTF myself but when it was all over I ultimately thought "hmm not bad".

@panty_hampster I respect different opinions on movies. But your personal attack is rude and completely uncalled for. You took my opinion way out of context. I never said the scene was gratuitous. I was following the movie, and I do know that it was meant for sexual humiliation. That said, I still had a visceral and personal reaction to it. I chose to turn off the movie at that point because I was neither enjoying it nor was I learning anything from it. My comment was to express my opinion, and let others know that if such things may bother them as well, to check reviews carefully before investing time in this movie. I also commented on the direction, cinematography and acting. I can get through the movie if I so choose, but I chose not to. And my opinion is just as valid as any other viewer/user of this site.
Side note: I've seen plenty of comments on other movies where people have watched a portion of a movie and then chose to comment. If you don't like that this happens, perhaps talk to the mods about changing the rules? Until we are no longer allowed to do so, I'll comment on movies as I see fit.

I'm a huge fan of MM and Emile, but this movie sucked. I usually love these kind of movies. Anything twisted and weird, crazy, f'd up. But yah, I expected so much more. This is yet another movie that COULD have been great. It just went nowhere.

This movie felt like Pulp Fiction with a confederate flag waving from the back of the chopper: Or, was it just me? This is a roll of the dice. You're either gonna love it, hate it, or be left like me, standing speechless at the craps table. WTF did I just watch?

good movie ,not great but good,not one sympethic character eccsept the girl and the drug barron witch i found unusual ,a few tweeks and it could,should have been better(making the girl older)but at the end of this movie i kinda hoped thay would all die ,cant remember another film when ive felt that way(maybe the village or steetfighter ,for differant reasons)but if you want a movie that WILL get some kind emotnial responce one way or another try it .

studied this again. harder to watch second time. gravitated toward the initial perspectives of yvonne, mspotato and kerbear. while i was worried about big al reproducing in ".45", killer joe managed to breed. magnum mean stumbling into concentrated stupid. they're out there. girls, be afraid. guys, fix bayonets. HAHAHAHAHA.

Well, yes..it is raunchy..but so is Pulp Fiction and Closer! It's hard to deal with this subject matter to the tune of tasteful. Over the top may be necessary when you're depicting really sick characters and their relationships--just in case you may find yourself being sympathetic. This film does it with good actors, so it's worth watching. On the other hand, once is enough.
