Mr. Taningco is my International Economics professor, he's in his mid-20s & I believe that I won't have such a hard time in his class because he explains the subject matter really well considering the fact that I hate economics.

On the other hand, I hate Dr. Robles. I swear if he talks to me in french, I will speak in chinese. He gave us a lot of reading material & from what I gather from people that had him before, you read & discuss among yourselves & expect essay type of quizzes. I don't like him.

Anyway, I'm getting off with a great start! Thank Goddess :D

Extremely corny, Jennifer Connely gives a horrible performance, and the story was stupid. I really did not like this.

A sometimes musical, but definite fantasy movie staring David Bowie as the Goblin King.

This is an old time favourite of mine and ranks up there with Dark Crystal.

The story revolves around Sarah, who whilst babysitting her brother Toby wishes him away to the Goblins. Unexpectedly horrified by the loss, she is granted 13 hours by Jareth the Goblin King to rescue him before the child belongs to him forever. Sarah sets out to find him in the Goblin King's labyrinth, in which she must reach the centre and the castle before her time expires. However this is a land where nothing is really as it seems and along the way makes some really cool friends!

All that said and done, the Goblin King isn't really that scary, but the movie is a fun and entertaining one and the Jim Henson creations are likeable and never fail to impress.

A stonking good ride for all!

Seriously, I don't get why these shitty movies are so well recieved. Jennifer Connelly over-dramatizes all her lines (And her character is annoying), David Bowie looks like a frickin' Christmas tree, the plot is stupid, the script was terrible and the best actor in it was Toby Froud because he didn't talk so he didn't look like a dumbass like everyone else. What a pile of crap. I can't believe Jim Henson directed this, because the Muppets rock.

Jim Henson shows so much of his talent in this one movie. This movie has a combination of comedy, romance, and action. To those who have loved watching "The Muppet Show", I suggest you see this movie, Labyrinth. What I like most about this film is the dynamic characters such as Ludo and Hoggle. The Fiery Gang are my favourite characters - they are a bunch of red furry stick figures that can disjoin their simple body parts, such as their legs - they also produce fire through their fingers. It was pretty difficult for Henson and his crew to pull characters, such as these ones, off. If you rent the DVD, I definitely suggest watching the "Behind the Scenes" dialog to see how certain characters were created. One thing I didn't like about this movie was Sarah's snottiness - but that was only in the beginning when she didn't know what was about to happen. David Bowie's acting is just perfect, although I've always wondered that if his character is the Goblin King, why does he not show any goblin facial features? I guess that is because he morphs into and out of an owl, and therefore has owl-like features when he's human (notice his eye-makeup). There is not one song in this movie I do not like. :fresh: The one thing that I would change is the ending. Sarah should stay with the goblin king. This is her fantasy coming true.

:fresh: In everyone's childhood years, they have their particularly favorite movies that are worn from consecutive viewings. Labyrinth was mine.
From the wonderful introduction and brilliant theme, the movie creatively spins our main character, Sarah, into a world of mystical imagery. After wishing her baby brother to be taken away by the goblins (which takes place) she must adhede the challenge of the Goblin King (played wonderfully by David Bowie) to go through his labyrinth and find that of which she seeks.
Full of magic and lush scenery, it is beautifully rounded out by a cast of lovable characters (Hoggle, Luto, Sir Didamus) then some cruel and sometimes humurous villains (Goblin King, the Fire Gang, and the Gate Keeper).
Not easily forgotten are the songs written and performed by David Bowie, including but not limited to "Magic Dance" and "Chilly Down" and even "Underground" which add all the more magic into this already engaging fantasy.
Highly recommended, this belongs in every parent's entourage of family movies.

MOST MEMORABLE SCENE
 The stairs scene based on the painting by M.C.Escher "Within You".
