A mess, but an amusing one. I was very disappointed with both Naomi Watts' performance and character. I don't think there is any real reason to care for her after what she does. Kate Hudson was surprisingly bearable in a role that was far better written than that of Naomi's.

I'd heard really lots of good things about Le Divorce before and was recommended to watch this movie. I did think it was nice to watch, especially with my beautiful Kate Hudson and the very talented Glenn Close. But the movie had its flaws and I got bored in the middle of it. I think it's because I couldn't care much about this French guy wanting a divorce for a screwed up other girl. His wife should have just kicked him out, but she kept fighting and even tried to commit suicide. But that's just love - it's blinding. And that's a lot what this movie is about, I guess.

The book was clever and properly mixed with French and American culture clashes. The movie was miscast. When did Kate Hudson morph into Bebe Neuwirth! If the movie had been kept smaller with and unknown cast it could have been great.

Whats with them repeatedly adding new features? I like how you can now rate more than one movie at a time, but the additional lists thing is a bit extra.

Well I've had the flu all weekend, but I'm better now. I'll review the three movies listed above soon.

AND I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN 2001!

Saw this last night. It wasn't neccesarily that bad, but it was very confused as to what it is. It's a chick-flick that thinks it's a drama or something. I didn't like it, but maybe someone else will.

Last night I also rented "The Shawshank Redemption" and "I Capture the Castle," and I will watch them soon. I do have a lot to do today, I have to almost memorize a 4.5 minute speech, and go to work and all sorts of other *fun* stuff to do.

I really loved the use of color in this movie. There's this one scene with Kate Hudson, and she has this huge golf umbrella that's all different colors, and I just loved the way they filmed the scenes with it. The supporting actors were great and really nailed their roles. Stockard Channing and Sam Waterson were hilarious as the parents. Also loved Glenn Close in her role as Olivia Pace. And I always love Naomi Watts, and this film was no exception. Kate Hudson was fine, but I didn't really pay her much mind. Film lost a bit of direction toward the end, and took an awkward plot twist. It went from light and airy to dark and solemn in a quick step and it felt very odd. The ends were tied a bit too neatly for my taste, but overall, still loved it. Especially the way certain things, like the scarves, were incorporated from the book.

Movie: Hulk (2003) Hulk is only grouped with these terrible movies because they wouldn't fit with my better movies... I like comic book type movies, some aren't as great as others... i.e. Daredevil.

Movie: Le Divorce (2003) My wife had to rent it, I didn't want to... I swear. The movie was terrible... I actually am one of the few who like Kate Hudson as an actress... and this movie sucks.

Movie: Dogma (1999) This movie I went to go see at the theater, and for some reason it offended me so much that I had to walk out of it. I thought that maybe I could watch it with an open mind... so I rented it later... and watched it the whole way through... but it sucks... the only funny part is Chris Rock.

Movie: Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) Terrible... Terrible... that's all I should have to say... okay... how about TERRIBLE.

Movie: Guilty By Association (2003) Don't be fooled by the cover of this movie... I was... Morgan Freeman is only in small parts of this movie.... the rest is this home video looking z-rated flick that sucks... BAD.

Le Divorce is not a good movie. Its supposed to be a dramodey but fails both as a comedy and a drama. The story, about an American twenty-something (played by Kate Hudson) that travels to Paris to help her pregnant sister (played Naomi Watts) only to find that her sister's husband has walked out on her, and the resulting plot twists play out more like a bad soap-opera rather than an insightful character study (like Something Gotta Give). The supporting characters are laughable. The main characters are forgettable. Finally, and this could be the movie's real sin, it plays long. Le Crap indeed.
