PERHAPS OF SOME INTEREST..."chenier" is a type of terrain - an environment of shrub oaks growin' in sandy loam..similarly, there are "laurel slicks" here in th' smokin' blue ridge mountains and "prairies" in florida (which can be dry weedy pans in dry times or waist deep 500 acre ponds in rainy season). more than you wanted to know, yeah??? SOMEBODY STOP ME!!!

This movie shows the true soul of the Cajun people and the beauty of the land in which they live. The music is French (not quite Creole), beautifully haunting and brings the characters and there bayou setting to life...
