(TV)(Second Viewing, 4 Anderson films seen)

Three unknowing martial artists are summoned to a mysterious island to compete in a tournament whose outcome will decide the fate of the world.

Not to be mistaken with Paul Thomas Anderson, the brilliant director of Magnolia, Boogie Nights, and Punch-Drunk Love, this Paul Anderson's next project is Alien vs. Predator. So you can easily see how they differ. His Mortal Kombat is so bad, that its own badness becomes its saving grace. It is so bad it is good (almost, but not really). It would make a better video game than a movie. Oh wait...
saw this in theaters 9 years ago. fun to watch. great movie for fans of the video game series. i liked it.
Comments pending.
One of the better video game movies, but that is like saying that my shit doesn't smell as bad as most other shit. It is still shit.

I can't believe that so many people hated MK. Granted I dislike Midway and Ed Boon with a vengence after releasing the glitchy Deception game, I must defend this movie, and bury its sequel in molten lead.
Mortal Kombat
I find this feature to be one of the best, if not the best, video game based movies. Just the opening music gets me amped, like I want to fight a thousand ninjas with my bare hands. It really brings out the little yet destructive kid in us all. My only gripes would be the fact that there was no Scorpion vs. Sub Zero thing, and the CGI reptile sucked, but hey, it's 1995. Top that off with amazing fight sequences and locations. So give Anderson a break here. This movie is as much of my childhood as The Sound of Music and Disney movies.
Mortal Kombat - Annihilation
One of the worst movies ever created. It wasn't as bad as House of the Dead, but it sucked a big one. From dull fights, crappy cgi and characters, and crazy plot holes to put every concievable character from the MK universe into just sunk it. They should have done one based on the second and then the third. Prepare to be annihilated!
One of my oldest favorites and still fun to watch. I wish I could kick ass like the girls in that movie. Just owrth watching over and over again.

Mortal Kombat (1995)

As a big fan of the Mortal Kombat series growing up in the arcades, naturally I have a soft spot for this movie. I think it was a pretty lame movie but at least stayed true to the characters somewhat unlike Street Fighter. It was a letdown in theaters but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
