Very good adaptation. Strangely enough, for once I didn't get upset that the film wasn't exactly like the book. Any changes they made I actually enjoyed.
Only problem I had was the *very* evil light they cast on the vampires when really they're just another type of Downworlder. In the book the vampires didn't take Simon on purpose, it was an accident. Also, they didn't chain him up and virtually torture him, as portrayed in the movie. I'm confused at the "maddened predator" spin they put on that scene.
Still disappointing that cams are being labeled as "LQ DVD" as well as it being allowed by mods... Even if it IS a "good quality" cam version, I think it's still mislabeling of a link. I understand that logic, but couldn't you guys ask for them to create a new category for the uploader to choose for the video when he links it? Something like "HQ cam" or something along those lines?
After being told by her boss that the company needs to attract more clients, Elizabeth, a skilled executive, meets one of Santa’s helpers, who blesses her with an extraordinary gift allowing Elizabeth to hear everyone’s unspoken thoughts. While first using her new-found power to get ahead at work, she soon learns to become a better person, turning an office rivalry into romance while learning the true meaning of Christmas along the way.
@Sunbury yeah, good film.. read the book THE MAN-EATERS OF TSAVO when a teenager.. the film is fictionalized but still good.. the caliber patterson actually used was .303 British, not near enough gun for lions.
An oldie, but GOLDIE!!!!
John Cussak, Dan Aykroyd, Jeremy Piven, Joan Cusack and Minnie Driver at the heart of this epic film.
-All of the actors are wonderful, especially Joan Cusack as John's office manager and the person who needles him into going to his reunion and rejoining the human race. Dan Akyroyd is also a hoot.
-Everything works in this movie. It's a black comedy/screwball romance/action flick with subtle, clever dialogue, cool music and beautiful scenery. It is completely irreverent, but hopeful and life-affirming, as well. Often mistaken as completely morbid, the film takes on not only a tone of humor, but that of vengeance and morality. You must see this film.
-This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love it when people who have an odd skill/life are thrust into common everyday situations and have no clue what they are doing. Exceptional at such and such, failing at everyday life.
-Best line of the whole movie.....in regards to a high school reunion- "It's as if everybody swelled"
I'm not a big fan of POV type movies, but this was good. At 1st seeing that is was a POV, I almost turned it off. Glad I didn't, some of the most imaginative creatures since Hell Raiser. Kind of Nazi Meets Steam Punk. There is also not a lot of repetitive overuse of the same creatures from scene to scene. Look out for the teddy bear, and, what I'll call bomb boy. You'll know it when you see it.
