I live in a town that has a lot of Amish, and Mennonite. People have built up an image of Amish, that their pure non violent etc. But they have their problems like everyone else. This show weather you want to believe it or not. Is actually very real. Amish have Rumspringa: It is a time in a young amish persons life where they can kind of break the rules a bit and not be totally condemned for doing so. Rumspringa is a right of passage of sorts. It usually starts around 15 - 16 and ends around 18 or when they get their baptism. However, not all of these teens will get Baptized after having a taste of the real world, and in their early 20's will either leave their communities, and be shunned. There are a lot of suicides, because they can't go home ever again. Often they just can't survive in the outside world on their own.
