Great movie! Recommended for those who enjoy watching a very convincing performance of a psychopath!

Pretty good, I don't know why this was given an 18, but I loved the Christmas effect. It reminded me of the hitcher a bit this film.

P2 was one of the better horror movies to release this year. Wes Bentley played a great bad guy and his performance alone is worth watching the film. If your a fan of thrillers or horror films, you will enjoy this one.

Damn man. I dunno why this film did so poorly at the box office- I thought it was great. I guess maybe (read: undoubtedly) the marketing sucked- my girlfriend kept telling me she saw the trailer like 3 times on every episode of "the Hills" for the last month. I wonder what genius spent that ad money- way to go!! Have fun on your hunt for a new job!!!

It's rare to see a simple thriller that doesn't insult the audience with flashy twists and nonsensical plotless turns. The main character (played by the lovely and titlented...uhh booblented...um oops this is so embarrassing. ahem. TALENTED Rachel Nichols) makes many important decsions throughout the film, all of which have direct drastic reprocussions. What seperates this film from the majority of others in the genre is that Angela (Nichols) makes some pretty smart decisions. There's not one scene in the entire film where you'd smack your forehead and say "what a dumbass shitbag." She makes the right decisions and for the most part gets out smarted by the sadisticly charming Wes Bentley (who shines in this performance). Yes, it's got a small cast and it's shot in a confined space, but I don't understand why some reviewers are claiming that to be a downside, because it's really well put together. It's the type of film that should be applauded for being so efficient and creative, especially with all of the inefficiency and regurgitation in hollywood these days. For those that disagree, I'm sure the producers can issue you an apology for the fact that there are no flying monkeys shooting lazers from their heads.

I'd say this film is for the fan of classic thrillers, as well as fans of the campy horror films. It starts off a bit slow, so "Transformers" fans might want to bring their rittalin, but man is the payoff worth it. Once the action and tension starts it doesn't stop. And plus it's funny too- without being distracting. I laughed more genuinely during this film than any of the last Will Ferell movies.

All in all, I just hope that people end up showing up to see it- even if the target audience won't catch any commercials on TV unless their girlfriend forces them to watch "The Hills" or "E! Entertainment Television."

Wow. What a terrible movie. The choice was: Go get coffee or let's go see a movie. I don't know what we were thinking. The movie gets the 'R' rating because of one scene of gratuitous violence and language. If it were not for that, they could have gotten away with a PG-13 rating. But no, we were forced to watch some maniac run over a guy in a chair repeatedly. And we were shown quite graphically what happens when that guy in the chair hits a wall while a car crushes him. I could honestly do without that kind of stuff. There was ZERO character development... yet you might say... "well you did pay money to see P2" and then I would have to agree with said person and realize my mistake. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Quite possibly the worst movie I paid some kind of money to see. But one brightside. Rachel Nichols is quite hot.

J's Advice: Do not see it.

What Your in For
It's Christmas Eve: a time for curling up by the fire with family and friends; a day when even the most voracious corporate climbers generally head home by dinner time. But not Angela. She's the last one left at the office, determined to close one more deal before the holiday. The long hours she keeps will have an impact, but not the kind she's been hoping for

Honestly...
First off, sorry for the leave of absence, there has just been nothing I really saw or wanted to review but now that Enchanted is on its way, I'll be on more. And bare with me while I try to make my entry's a bit different since I was getting bored, and you guys are too. SO of course my newest entry is the film maybe 5 people saw this weekend, but regardless im here to review it. The ads got me excited, maybe THIS, THIS would be the horror greatness of the year. Of course, it wasn't but I've come to expect that with 2007's horror pictures crop. P2 is, Red Eye, in a parking level, basically.

P2 is a nice idea, it's quite cheesy but it's a fun film. Where Red Eye really lifted off(bad pun, I know) and P2 fails is the cast and the very messy script. The cast of P2 falls flat in every way imaginable. They aren't horrible, and they work but they fall so cliched to the script. Wes Bentley who has been, where? Is fine as the vilian, very creepy but he provides nothing new to his character. Rachel Nichols isn't bad in her role either, but completey forgettable. The film's script has a lot of loose ends, its a very stop and go film. Some moments your moving, ready to keep going and it stops for a good couple of minutes only to repeat this routine agian. When it goes though, it goes.

The death's (although there arent many) are done really well, a lot more brutal then Red Eye, but the films differ in many aspects. The deaths are really, random for the film and some character were are barely attacthed to the they are just their for the quick scare, which this film also lacks in. It spends much more time after the build up, but in the build up we feel nothing for Rachels character, at all. My favourite scene has to be the dog chase, it was quite brutal and well done. Their are moments of jumping out of your seat but they are short lived.

Like I said, the film is cheesy so sometimes you find your self chuckling. Example being where, Wes Bently is yelling at Rachels character in the car, because he didnt like her repeating her name. I couldn't help myself. It's a dark film as well, some moments your left in the theatre in completey darkness, it take you out of the film sometimes. The ending also provides some chuckles, as its so blunt and final that your left feeling, WTF? Shame. The film is fun, it applies absolutely nothing new to the genre and it falls very cliched but it's harmless. Here's to 2008, please bring the horror back. I'm asking nicely.

P2

If I had to, I could sum up 'P2' in one word: average. If anything, it's a mild diversion from the sugary sweet offerings this holiday season. Is it entertaining? Sure. Sometimes there's nothing better than curling up with a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate, and a cheesy horror flick to boot. 'P2' never really strives to be anything more than another routine and generic horror offering, and it should be treated as such. It's formulaic in every way, but it does what it does pretty well. And sometimes, when there's very little potential to begin with, that's perfectly okay. Penned and produced by the very talented and up-and-coming Alexandre Aja, his influence on 'P2' is felt on almost every level in gruesome detail (I'm convinced he hates dogs).

Posing behind its holiday setting to perhaps create a greater sense of what's at stake, 'P2' is very entertaining but offers up absolutely nothing in the way of originality. It's your typical formula dropped in the middle of a dark, dank parking garage. It's a creepy atmosphere, and other than a relatively creative opening sequence, 'P2' doesn't move beyond the standard gimmicks. Once our killer strikes - who apparently has a thing for Elvis - this little film runs on autopilot. It's dumb and pretty nonsensical, but 'P2' never actually becomes what I would call a 'bad' movie. The film's apparent lack of effort seemingly works in its favor to make an entertaining throwback horror film. I actually found myself having a good time, being taken in by this atmospheric ride. It's an interesting spin on a tired concept, 'P2' is harmless fun.

Alexandre Aja, who has helmed two of my favorite horror films (the French 'High Tension' and 'Hills Have Eyes' remake) pens the film's script. Aja's made up for a lack of character development in the past with an eye for style and disturbing terror, but it doesn't work quite as well here. If you feel bad about not giving a damn about our unfortunate heroine, don't. It's not your fault. But with plenty of laughable moments that I have a feeling were very intentional, I wonder what Aja could have done with 'P2' as the man behind the camera lens. Regardless, his presence is certainly felt. And he's still got it. As it is, one shouldn't be surprised to hear that 'P2' isn't a very good movie. But there are times where it does get the job done, and it passes the time with tightly wound efficiency. I've seen worse, especially with this year's pathetic horror front.

Does it deliver what it promises?
It's nothing we haven't seen before, but it's not that bad.

Is it entertaining?
It's very watchable in a campy throwback kind of way.

Is it worth the price?
It'd be a great late-night rental.

P2 is another cliche horror plot carried out by some talented filmmakers resulting in above average genre fare. The acting could have been a little better, but surprisingly the female lead was strong enough for me to not want to see her die. This is where the film succeeds greatly. The characters are very well defined, however cliche they may be. Alexandre Aja (director of The Hills Have Eyes and High Tension) helped with the script. He is one of the best names in horror working today. I hope he keeps it going.
