Sliver (1993) Sharon Stone, William Baldwin, Tom Berenger, Martin Landau, Polly Walker, Nina Foch, CCH Pounder, Colleen Camp, Keene Curtis, Nicholas Pryor, Amanda Foreman, D: Phillip Noyce. Lonely book editor Stone moves into a high-rise Manhattan apartment complex beset with a history of deaths. With her getting more and more involved with video-game designer Baldwin and writer Berenger on her pursuit, she gets the feeling someone is watching her and that's when she has to choose who out of the two men is a killer. Voyeuristic thriller/murder-mystery/REAR WINDOW-wannabe has a slumming director that stresses a high importance on selling sex and violence with no point. Joe Eszterhas's script is exploitative and empty, with a whole lot of unresolved loose ends, and after reshooting the abrupt ending (that changed the killer's identity); it's still in need of another rewrite. From an Ira Levin novel. Running Time: 106 minutes and rated R for strong sexual content and nudity, violence, and language. *

A big piece of stinky cheese!!
I'm beginning the rather lengthy task of entering into the database every film I have seen, at least those I have a decent memory of. Some may have the briefest of reviews while many will just have a number. Those films that I consider personal favorites and/or those that have some historical signficance I will add later when I have time for more lengthy reviews.

Wild Wild West, directed Barry Sonnenfeld, revives the old TV series in a very bad fashion. The film aims low and barely reaches your ankle. Will Smith and Kevin Kline are grossly miscast. No fun at all.

Young Guns 2, directed by Geoff Murphy, marks the return of the three surviving members of the first flick. Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips are now joined by Christian Slater, Balthazar Getty and Alan Ruck. While the first film may not have been particularly honest to history, it sure was a fun film. This one doesn't have the charm of the original.

Sliver, directed by Phillip Noyce, is a psycholgocal thriller starring Sharon STone, Tom Berenger and William Baldwin.

Never Talk to Strangers, directed by Peter Hall, is another bad erotic thriller. This one stars Antonio Banderas and Rebecca DeMornay.
Overall a bad film with an even worse ending.

Yup, bad script bad acting. Sharon Stone proves again how broad her acting range is :sarcasm:

Has some competently handled camera-work but otherwise I don't see much in terms of endearing qualities in this eroto-trash thriller.

3/10 :rotten:

Avoid. Period.
