A lot better than I expected. The acting is pretty bad, but it makes up for it in other elements.
Dee Snider was a pretty cool bad guy. The make-up effects on his tattoos and piercings were really awesome.
An amazing soundtrack.

This movie bas bizarre. It was an account of what happened to some teenagers when they decided to rebel against their parents and meet some dude, that they met over the internet. Dee Snider starred in this one and he didn't do that great of a job, I just wanted him to shut the fuck up the whole time. The detective in the movie (who's daughter was one of the girls that got kidnapped) was too insecure about his own dick, and as a result was way to over dramatic every waking moment. There was alot of body scarifications and other forms of mutilation potrayed in this one. They pretty much made every attempt possible at making this a sick and creepy movie. They pulled it off, but that doesn't mean that this movie is any good. Robert Englund (Freddy Crueger) played a hick, for a small segment, of this movie and I really think that he took the movie away, the part where he is dancing to dirty porn music is fucking hilarious. This movie does nothing more than expose the twisted thoughts that Snider must have, and is really just a marketing ploy to get everyone that watches it back into Twisted Sister.

Found a great comment from some sappy critic: "The kind of movie that makes you want to take a bath immediately after watching it." Oh yes. most definitely.

Helverton Colorado is a small town with an inauspicious problem. People all over town are missing, and when they turn up, horrible things have happened to them. A serial killer stalks woman on the internet using the username Captain Howdy. He invites the girls back to his house and rapes and kills them. When his victims bring friends to his house with them, male or female, he kills them too.

"There are thousands hacking at the branches of evil."

John Pieplow, director of Jurassic Women, delivers Strangleland in his directorial debut. The storyline was semi-interesting due to the tattoo and exotic piercing that were the main focal points of the torture techniques the villain utilized. The acting was mediocre and felt like it was made for television quality. The soundtrack was appropriate for this genre of film.

"There is no pain, just sensation."

The pictures of the crime scene, the "rights of passage" analogy, the body found in the trunk of the car, the conversation with the tow-truck driver, the club in the city, the penis piercing sequence, the basement discovery and arrest, Captain Howdy getting attacked and hanged, and the dancing corpse were amongst the better portions of the film.

"I've chatted with some killer guys."

Strangleland had the potential to become a mediocre horror flick because it possessed a solid villain. The villain was well depicted and his narration was well written. Nevertheless, the storyline is atrocious. The film is not scary, though it does contain a fare amount of gore. Overall, this is a lame horror flick and not worth your time.

"Why am I not dead?"

What started as a pretty solid 4 rating, quickly deteriorated to solid 1 rating. The drugs must have been good, as the acting, swiss cheese script, and directing steadily went down hill faster than Robert Englund's career.

I had hopes for this movie, especially after watching Rob Zombies House of 1,000 corpses, but Dee Snider is no Rob Zombie it is sad to say. I still enjoy his radio show and Twisted Sister still disturbs me.

Watch it if you love Dee or have 80 minutes to kill.

Note: RT's list of Robert Englund's filmography (as of 6/14/07) does not list this movie... oversight, requested to be removed, or just so bad RT staff missed it?

This is a rather disturbing movie. It also is pretty predictable and slow. They could have done so much more w/ capt. howdy. I think he was a good character that could have added some serious scary to this movie. Strangeland failed at scaring me or even creeping me out. It did succeed at grossing me out.

Great Horror Flick. Will make you think twice before hooking up with anyone on the internet.

The movie was so-so, but the premise was delicious.

It was very disturbing and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Dee Snider should stick to just making music.
