Pro: Great look into protagonist's character. Great editing. Use of black and white shines.

Con: Story runs a little long.

My thumbs aren't broken... I just have an overuse injury
(damn Cello).

I did this amazing painting today in Art.
It's this close up on a guy whispering something to a woman.
Reallllly awesome.
It's small enough so that I can scan it when it's dry.
God I love Oils.

I've been so busy, and I finally got to watch a movie this week, but of course I don't have time to write much about it. It was a good movie, great performances by Newman and Laurie, as well as Scott. Liked, didn't love.

Piper Laurie (one of the coolest names ever) is so good as Eddie's love interest Sarah. Sarah is a cripple alcoholic whose moods are very unstable. She did not make another film after this until Carrie, 15 years later. She reeceived Oscar noms for both fillms but lost. She has such a unique way of talking and her delivery of Sarah is haunting.

Damn! Now that was good! Finally, a Charlie Chaplin movie I can appreciate, which is probably because Chaplin's visual humor is finally supported by some audio gags, which give the characters more depth and definitely more space to place gags. Some of the scenes are downright brilliant (the globe scene in particular ) and the special effects are damn good and still look very good real today.
