Eisenhower is a master illusionist whose childhood love interest was taken from him by her parents. Eisenhower was a poor kid while his girlfriend was from a noble family. He has since gone and developed his illusionist skill sets in Japan. Upon his return he quickly experiences success. At one of his shows, the emperor's son has his girlfriend serve as a prop in Eisenhower's act. The prince's girlfriend is Eisenhower's former love interest. Will Eisenhower be able to rekindle the former relationship he had with his childhood love?

"There's no tricks they haven't seen."

Neil Burger, director of Interview with the Assassin and Lucky Ones, delivers The Illusionist. The storyline for this series delivers intrigue, solid magic/illusion sequences, and an interesting love story. The acting is first rate and the cast includes Edward Norton, Jessica Biel, Paul Giamatti, and Rufus Sewell.

"Perhaps I'll make you disappear."

The Illusionist is a film I have been trying to see for some time. I saw The Prestige and loved it. The fact I loved the Prestige kept me from seeing this movie (I did the same with Event Horizon when The Sphere was released). Most people I have spoke to love either The Illusionist or The Prestige but not too many enjoyed both; however, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed both picturess. The love story within this film as well as the magic scenes and character development were all perfect. I strongly recommend seeing this film.

Call me for tooting that horn, but I cannot get past the notion that I saw it coming all along. Okay, magician, where everything seems to be going against him in a movie called the Illusionist. Hmmmm, what did you think was going to happen?
