Shaun of the Dead
Disappointing. Started well and was funny. Then decided it wanted to be a horror movie and went down hill.

Insider
Amazing. One of my favourites.

I remember a time when i was young where people though of movies as appearing in black and white. This time is not now. 1999 was by far the best year in films. I'm so glad to tell you all the Insider was apart of that great year. Michael Mann is my favorite director of all-time and will never ever EVER be surpassed by any director living nowadays. So....let me 'middle off' by saying that i have loved all of his films. David Fincher on the otherhand i think has shed some of his insights on this production. The Inisider seems to have that Fight Club feel and color. The vibrant green and gray. I have a distate for Russel Crowe but in this movie is surprises by buds. I have seemed to have fun viewing in this format and approve of all of his works. this movie is so good. He brings up the topics i like thinking about. Mainly...people who shouldn't and don't deserve to live

Tonight I watched The Insider. This film I wasn't too sure if I wanted to see or not. It looked like it probably wouldn't interest me. On the other hand, it's directed by one of my favorite directors and has a good cast. So I decided to give it a shot. Man, I'm glad a decided to. This is an excellent film. Al Pacino and Russell Crowe were both great in the film. I was so impressed with Christopher Plummer's performace as well. I actually thought that WAS Mike Wallace playing himself. Anybody who can make you feel that way is a great actor.

Michael Mann took a topic that seemed uninteresting to me and turned it into a film that was hard to take your eyes off of. The story was great coming from a topic that I thought I would have no interest in. The pacing was great and the film never took a bad turn. Mann knows how to make a good film and he shows his directing skills well in this film. I think this is Mann's best film to date. Great movie.

What an incredible film. I've been interested in Mann's films ever since seeing Last of The Mohicans, but this was amazing. Oscar-caliber performances all around. A fired Tabacco company scientist ( Russell Crowe) blows the whistle on his on his old company, saying that the cigarettes are highly addictive and may lead to extremely dangerous health problems later on. His story is aided by a 60 minutes producer ( A brilliant, as always, Al Pacino). The script is highly intelligent and really goes off on the subject matter. You'll never look at 60 Minutes or Tabacco companies the same way again. The Film is 158 minutes long, but If you asked me I'd say it felt half that length. Truely remarkable film that deserved all the nominations it got. Top 5.

This movie is...good god. There's so many levels of goodness that I can't even begin to describe how I feel about it.

It's smart, it's compelling, it's powerful, it's...it's suspenseful, it's deep, it's an amazingly great film.

Pacino is...Pacino is so great in this movie that I just want to shake the man's hand. Just be like, "Dude, you're frickin' awesome and I love you." The man is pure genius and each movie I see with him is better and better (though i doubt anything will beat the Godfather films).

Russell Crowe was great as well. As I scan IMDb, I see that I have never seen a Crowe movie, minus the 40 minutes or so I kinda sorta watched of Master & Commander. And for some reason I always kinda looked at him and felt...annoyed. No clue why. But after this movie, I definitely won't feel annoyed anymore because the man can act. And dangit, he was great in this.

Michael Mann AGAIN pulls out all the stops. Well, I guess I've only seen Collateral out of all his films, but both films have absolutely breathtaking editing, cinematography, and visuals. Just amazingly shot. Watching him direct movies like this kind of further causes me to push back writing a screenplay and working on storyboards for it because...I can't top his work. It's too great.

This was...so so good. And I recommend it to anyone and everyone because it's just plain great.
