The original and remake are both decent films to watch .I like a film that don't make me wish i had that hour and a half of my life back

@Darthintrepid LOL Solid copy on the tele tubbies.
My best boyhood friend and I would collect pop bottles to return them for the deposit all week to save enough money for snacks and treats, to gorge on during the movies ( double feature)Now world weary and one can hope wiser,I miss those days, and although the FX was primitive by comparison there's still a ambiance that makes them worth watching one more time.
Madam Flicker was kind enough to PM me a link to the movie on Solar, so Nostalgia city here I come.
1shot 10-10 and 0n the side

It's right here on Solar ;) I miss those good ole' saturday mornings. Now they just saturate children with dribble. The Teletubbies are pretty horrific, though.

@Darthintrepid yes in the book the alien was a plant, but in the 1951 movie, he was a humanoid.
I was lucky enough to see this among others on Saturday mornings Creature feature, as a kid
Still some of my best memories. LOL

@1shotdeal
Ah, yes, but the original was based off of the short story published in 1938, and the alien was a plant that fed on blood. The backdrops are the same; the isolation of the arctic north, but the changing the alien into a doppleganger totally changed the psychology of the movie. Now, not only are you isolated and cut off from any chance of outside intervention, but any one of your most trusted colleagues could now have murderous intent.

@Flicker2013
Yup! They did the best they could at making it the same scene, even. Crazy Swede shootin at a dog from a helicopter.

@Flicker2013 My hats off to the penguin lady. You are scary good LOL I was relying on memory and stand corrected. Although the premise is the same as well as the setting and general story line. Now if a link could somehow be found.............

@Darthintrepid WOW I forgot about that.
The end being of this film is the beginning of John Carpenter's The Thing 1982 starring Kurt Russel. Thanks for pointing that out.
