This movie kept me on edge and it came together at the end very well. Ending was excellent.

The movie is unrealistic..Even in the sense of mental illness sometimes you wonder if anyone could recognize the girl having conversations with her dead sister.IT not good but also entertaining when it comes to the point, when it really tells you the story.

I actually liked this movie! The dialogue and directing are good, and there's strong acting throughout. Emily Browning is convincing as Anna, just released from an institution after witnessing her bedridden mother die horribly in a fire. While she's been away, her famous writer dad has hooked up with a new girlfriend who just happens to be her mom's ex nurse (Elizabeth Banks). Emily's rebel older sister Alex (played by Arielle Kebbel, who's pissy/funny personna really steals the show) is dissastisfield with this situation and eventually convinces Emily that the nurse is up to no good and has a dubious past. Or does she? As the plot thickens, the film creates just enough doubt that we can't quite believe the obvious -- or should we? And yes, the ending will surprise some people.

More suspense than horror, there's just enough scary jolts and images without going over the top to make you jump and feel creepy. I predict that either Browning or Kebbel or both will become major stars while the already established Banks does a good job as well.

I actually enjoyed this movie. Though the horror parts were few and far between, it kept my attention and I felt satisfied at the end.

Quite succesful for being an american remake since the majority of all remakes end up being junk. Smart movie that followed the pattern of the original master piece to 100%. Still uncompareable to the original A Tales of Two Sisters.
Grown up movie which dont caters to teens as it'll leave them minnumb not understanding the ending. Phsycological horror at a smart level.

This movie tries to be smarter than it actually is. There were some good scares and goosebumps moments, but the twist at the end feels contrived.

Great Movie! It was a good horror movie for people who aren't into excessive gore, blood, etc. It wasn't overly scary either. I mean, there were some freaky parts, and pop ups, but it was more like adventure/horror/drama. The actors were great and perfect for their roles! It was a good remake of a foreign movie. This movie is worth seeing.

not exactly a bad film, but not exactly good

For its poor following and bad reviews, I went into this with a stiff upper lip. Before I knew it the movie actually grabbed my attention and threw my expectations for a loop. A few gross out scenes and a surprisingly well acted movie, it ended up not sucking. The story was involving and twisted and the ending was definitely not in my repertoire of guesses.
