2012 was certainly Channing Tatum's year, between this film and 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, Tatum solidified his stardom and showed moviegoing audiences that he can be very appealing in roles where he plays blue-color, working class hero, boy-next-door types. Critics trashed this movie for being cloying and artificial in its sentimentality, but I disagree. Sure, there's some manipulation going on, it is a bit on the cheap side in that way, but look at what makes a good romance -- it's always the chemistry between the leads. Here, you have Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum playing the world's most adorable married couple, it's almost too precious, and I think that's what turns people off about this movie, but the fact of the matter is that if the whole point was to charmed, they've succeeded. McAdams and Tatum are a believable couple, and in the grand tradition of great team-ups like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Tatum and McAdams definitely have that magic It factor. Someone put them together in another romance, but this time give them a better script.

Yeah, I agree. I watch a great deal of movies, romances included, and this one wasn't too bad (Its not Wuthering Heights by any means though lol) but I feel like the ending fell a little flat
