:fresh: Goldeneye (* * * / * * * *)

Not perfect by any great stretch, but enjoyable enough.

:fresh: Tomorrow Never Dies (* * * / * * * *)

Better than Goldeneye thanks mostly to Pryce.

:fresh: The World Is Not Enough (* * * / * * * *)

The best of the Brosnan Bonds. A weak villian keeps this from really taking off, but Brosnan has clearly become comfortable with the role. Dench is finally given something to do besides chastise Bond look perpetually pissed and it pays off.

:rotten: Die Another Day (* * / * * * *)

Ew. One of the worst Bond movies ever. No wonder he doesn't want to do anymore. If they stuck me with this mess I'd bail, too.

This is definitely the best 007 movie. Pierce Brosnan rocks, and the bad guy is an awesome old dude that is demented and owns media. This movie, unlike Goldfinger, is non-stop action. If you are looking for a good Pierce Brosnan, I would suggest this, Goldeneye or Mrs. Doubtfire. Yes, he was in that.

Above average but still not a wonderful film. It has some great action sequences, but that doesn't change the fact that it is incredibly hoaky, and the villain is not threatening at all.

Teri Hatcher is a terrible actress...I'm sorry but she is. Luckily Michelle Yeoh, who is much more talented and, IMO, very gorgeous, saves the movie from being ruined by Hatcher (who also, luckily, dies in the first hour).

As I have said before, I am a sucker for the bond films that try to be a little more realistic. I like the Bond gadgets, but only when they serve purpose rather than simply being there to make unnecessary action sequences. That's why I love Goldeneye so much...he uses a few gadgets, but they aren't the life of the movie.

Overall they got rid of any brains and substituted them for eye candy. It's fun to watch, but not much more.

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

Tomorrow Never Dies is almost equal to GoldenEye except that it really lacks a good Bond girl in this movie. The villain is much like the classic Bond villains from the early Bond films. This is probably one of the most action-packed Bond movies in the series.
