My college just had a sneak preview of the movie, and Troy is seriously the best movie I have seen in a really long time! It is a wonderful story that has been made into such a great movie. All the acting was amazing, and I loved it from start to finish. It is about 2 hours and 45 min. long, but not once was I bored or checking my watch. Of course all the actors are good looking, who doesn't love to see Brad Pitt or Orlando Bloom. But it was more then just good looking guys. It was a great movie, and I would recommend it to everyone! It has everything anyone would want to see in a movie: great story, beautiful people, action, and romance. :D Two big thumbs up! :up: Go see it!!! :D

I thought this movie was the greaest movie I have seen in ages! (besides Once apon a time in Mexico starring Johnny Depp)! Orlando is hot and does a brilliant job with his character Paris, Prince of Troy! Well Done Buddy

i absolutley CANNOT wait 2 see Troy on Friday. I have Troy week coming up. Monday is Interview w/the Vampire, Tuesday is The Hulk, Wednesday is Pirates of the Caribbean, Thursday is Outbreak & Friday is Troy. Can u feel the anticipation. I know I can't. I will b sure 2 come back w/a full report.

A really good movie. That is if you like epics because boy was it long. It had a lot of action which surrounded everything. Brad Pitt is great, and so was Eric Bana and Sean Bean. The story was pleasant with its war & romance and that really big horse was stupendous. In the end I found that Achilles heal upset the mood a bit.

This will not be a full review just yet, as I feel I need to watch the film a second time before I can articulate my thoughts. Not that the film really demands multiple viewings, this has more to do with the fact that the people I watched it with were constantly talking and making comments, so I missed a fair amount of dialogue.

I will say a few brief things about the film for now though. It is defintely an action film, as the sequences are numerous, but this a film about a long war, so I was not expecting otherwise and nor should you. I thought one of the film's stronger points was its use of the Greece/Troy relationship and their respective battle strategies, it worked as I would have hoped, given that I have a rather deep understanding of Greek lore, although I am rusty on the subject of the Iliad. The characters are all of course larger than life, which works given the subject matter. The battle sequences are not as gory as we have come to expect from such a film, and they are somewhat inconsistent, but at their best moments they should keep you entertained.

Now, on to the bad stuff. One of the biggest problems I had with the film, was its inability to remain objective on which to side to root for. It tried at times to be objective, but there were far too many times when in trademark Hollywood fashion it made us hope the "good guys" would prevail. Hollywood is probably the most general word you could use to describe most of the problems with this film. From its very Hollywood style love stories, to its musical score which is not only generic, but down right annoying at times, tinseltown has its stamp all over this one. The camerawork feels unpolished in places and a little too LOTR-wannabe in other places. The cinematography was not bad by any means, but certainly underwhelming for a film like this.

As I said before, I will not make a final judgement on this film until I see it again, but it strikes me as a film that can fit well into the category of semi-mindless action fun.

After Second Viewing: The overly Hollywood aspects of the film became more apparent and annoying in my second viewing, as did the pathetic score, with its almost constant Indian moaning.

Don't waste your time with it

This movie is horrible. The story is terrible. The acting is even worse. My friends will go and see this movie because there is Brad Pitt, but it is a waste of money.
